The bicycle pins and earrings are exquisitely made and represent the boda-boda bicycle taxis, a common mode of public transport in rural areas of Western Kenya. The dancing girl pins and earrings are particularly delightful and are decorated with colourful beads. No two pieces are the same – that’s the beauty of handcrafted creations.

The jewellery is made by skilled craftspeople and finished by young women from the Teenage Mothers Association of Kenya (TEMAK), in the poorest area of Kisumu. TEMAK offers job training, provides the community with information on HIV/AIDS awareness and other health issues, and provides sales outlets for crafts that ensures a sustainable income for many in the community.
