We’ve just placed a new order for Palestinian wood crafts and soaps. These products are supplied by our good friends at Hadeel, an Edinburgh-based organisation which trades directly (under very difficult circumstances) with producer groups in the West Bank, Gaza and Lebanon. Trading with such producers helps to sustain infrastructures, as many of them also provide vital health, education and emergency services in their communities. Hadeel is owned by the Scottish charity Palcrafts and any surplus that Hadeel makes on sale of goods is gift aided to Palcrafts which distributes small development grants to producers.
More candlesticks and holding crosses have been ordered, along with an assortment of beautiful, unique wood crafts – these are all hand carved from high-quality olive wood by skilled craftspeople who live and work in Beit Sahour, a Palestinian town near Bethlehem. We’ve also ordered more olive oil-based soaps, which come from Nablus, a city in the West Bank famous for its rich tradition of soap making.
Products will be in stock and available for sale by Friday, the 20th of August.
