Cooperativa Campo-Ciudad is a group of Nicaraguan women who produce greeting cards from dyed corn leaves. These cards provide the women with a steady monthly income and an opportunity to improve their living conditions. The group is part of a network of local cooperatives which represent over 900 small farmer families. Profits from sales are used under the supervision of the Union of Agricultural Cooperatives (UCANS) to finance small-scale community development initiatives.
