Ilala Weavers

Ilala Weavers, situated in the province of KwaZulu Natal, South Africa, was set up to revitalise and enhance traditional Zulu crafts. The organisation helps over 2000 Zulu men and women to attain self sufficiency. The crafters work from their homes, thereby retaining their lifestyle and rich heritage of basket weaving and bead work, which has been passed down through the generations. Ilala weavers is a member of the International Fair Trade Association (IFAT).
