Colorful bookmarks made from tin sheets of misprinted
bottle caps and hand painted in a variety of colours and designs. Each bookmark is tied with hyacinth rope from Lake Victoria.
The Teenage Mothers and Girls Association of Kenya (TEMAK) provides job training in tailoring, hairdressing, secretarial skills, craft making and computer skills to unmarried mothers, girls and others from the Obunga slums. This organisation provides the community with an educational forum for HIV/AIDS awareness as well as the dangers of female genital mutilation. Many of the young women at TEMAK participate in making crafts, thereby earning an income to support themselves and their families. TEMAK is a registered Fair Trade Organisation and member of IFAT.
