Spikenard is a very ancient and sacred oil. Cherished by the ancient Egyptians and used by wealthy Roman women in perfumes and beauty preparations, it was considered the fragrance of love and also thought to have deeply mystical powers. It is mentioned in the Bible, in Song of Solomon, and in the Book of John where Mary of Bethany used it to anoint the feet of Jesus.

Used since antiquity for the treatment of the nervous system, spikenard has a balancing and calming effect on almost all types of restlessness. It is a relaxing, soothing oil which helps nourish and regenerate the skin.
