This unrefined butter comes from the nuts of wild shea trees in West
Africa and is made traditionally under organic guidelines. It has no
added preservatives, colouring agents, or other additives.
Agbanga Karite is a co-operative dedicated to building African self empowerment, reducing gender inequality, and diminishing the colonial legacy in West Africa.
This cooperative produces unrefined shea butter, African black soap and indigenous oils in central Togo under organic guidelines. Members receive fair and steady incomes. In addition, part of the group's income goes back to local communities in the form of community projects, AIDS and malaria outreach, and educational scholarships.
Agbanga Karite is a Fair Trade Federation (FTF) member.
